Fortunately, the damage was all cosmetic. Banged up a few knuckles
and a serious knot on my shin, which I hadn't noticed til it was pointed
out to me the next day. The turn signal lens and the shroud that
houses it need to be replaced. Underneath it all, the aluminum frame
brace that supports all the fairing particulars needs to be
replaced as well. Mechanically and structurally, everything seems
to be fine.
The fairing sustained minor scratching. Most of it can probably
be polished out. The magnesium head covers also took some scraping,
but nothing that some serious
riding shouldn't produce anyways ;)
I landed on my feet, and was only a few minutes late for my 1 o'clock
appoitment. It coulda been worse. No point complaining.
Below: The plate (again) says it all!
